Convergence in Production
How the advertising industry has utilised developments in technologies:
Overtime, due to major technological advances in the industry, companies are able to advertise their campaigns successfully. One example of this being put into practice is through the use of QR codes. With QR codes, consumers can access exclusive media and content both on digital and print advertising. Audiences can now gain instant access through this tool and closer looks into the companies own products. Another concept that can be explored, that has utilised development is technologies is through the use of hashtags. Hashtags are used on a variety of social media platforms to categorise or to label. Through hashtags, consumers are able to access multiple types of content related to the products they are interested in. This can be further explored within the companies own brand, where they can use the hashtags themselves, and externally with consumers using it to voice their own opinion. Through this the platform of social media can make the consumer feel more engaged with the product in which they are using, or that is being campaigned.

Convergence definition: The merging of mass communication outlets - print, television, radio, the internet along with portable and interactive technologies through various digital media platforms.
It's essentially one media product able to perform the tasks of any media products. i.e. Smartphone (it edits, take photos, uploads)
